services offered
It is critical that geothermal systems are flushed of all contaminants such as soil and rocks, construction debris, HDPE shavings and other foreign material. It is also critical that systems are purged of all air to ensure designed performance. Data shows that 8 out of 10 geothermal system failures are due to improper flushing and purging.
Our exclusive flushing and purging processes, specifications, and diverse fleet of equipment are industry leading, utilizing verification methods such as ultrasonic flow meters to verify flow rates. At Purge Rite, we have you covered from typical residential to the largest commercial project.

Purge Port Size
It is important to achieve the desired flow rates without excessive pressure on the pipe and fittings. If ports are undersized, achieving desired flow rates may not be possible.
Signed Certificate of Assurance
The system is certified clean until breached if Purge Rite is contracted to flush and purge the entire system, both interior & exterior.
As part of our quality control services, Purge Rite acts as a third party to the project, working often with commissioning agents to verify the flow performance of the geothermal exchanger.
Purge Rite provides documentation for all projects including:
- → All procedures
- → Documented times and flow rates
- → Detailed summary of our work
- → Picture of debris removed
On-site customer interaction in our projects is welcome.
bypasses
Strategically placed bypasses are critical for properly flushing and purging any system. Many systems which contain check valves, dole valves, lengthy runs of smaller pipe, etc. cannot be properly cleaned. Circulation at desired velocities in both directions is generally impossible without bypasses. In order to properly flush mains, especially larger mains, they should be isolated from the loop field and the building.
Feel free to contact us for consultation regarding proper purge port sizing and strategic bypass and valve locations for your project.
